Podcast Summarya little pop, a lotta hip hop, some rock... enjoy. About djSince breaking into the NYC club scene in the early 2000s, K Styles has been holding down residencies all over the city. She has been regularly featured at spots such as Underbar at the W Hotel, Ginger, Whiskey Park, Serena’s, Prey, Mantra and Whiskey in Times Square. Mixing seamlessly all genres of music, K Styles is emerging as one of the premier female DJ’s in New York. From hip hop to reggae to r&b to classics to dirty south to even rock and house music, K styles has a wide range of knowledge of music genres. Currently, you can find her rockin all types of private events and club gigs throughout the city. She has been consistently churning out mixtapes in her K Styles mixtape series, which has created buzz around the country with her own production and exclusive remixes. She currently has another volume in the works. K Styles has been involved in music from an early age. She began playing piano at age 9, at 15 playing guitar in an all girl punk band, and going on to play with various other bands. Throughout high school, you could always find her in the record store, digging through crates of CDs and vinyl. K Styles got her feet wet playing gigs with the Dream Team DJs. Recently she was featured opening up for Ryan Leslie, Slim of 112 and Day 26 from Diddy’s Making The Band at stops on the Young and Sexy Tour. She has also opened for Fabulous, Keri Hilson, Styles P of the Lox and world famous DJ Kid Capri. Originally entering the entertainment industry as a model, K Styles soon fell in love with DJing. She decided that being a music lover was no longer enough and bought her first set of Technic 1200s from a friend. K Styles found a mentor in DJ J Smoke of the Allies. After that, it wasn’t long before she was rockin her first party. Since then, K Styles has been spinning at some of the hottest NYC clubs and upscale private events for clients such as H&M, Nanette Lepore, Theory clothing, Steve Madden, MTV and various Breast Cancer Awareness events to name a few. She is also a resident DJ at the Scratch DJ Academy. Fans of this Show
